What is different about the new Tamil Nadu job scheme?

On 24 August 2021, Tamil Nadu’s Minister for Municipal Administration, Urban and Water Supply, K.N. Nehru announced that the state will implement an urban employment scheme on lines of the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (MGNREGS) at a cost of ₹100 crores to improve the livelihood of urban poor.
